Boy Scouts Troop 195

Boy Scouts Troop 195 and Cub Scouts Pack 195 sponsored by First UMC, Grand Prairie

Our Church’s strong support and sponsorship of Scouting originated when Boy Scout Troop 1 was organized in May 1922 and chartered in May 1923. Later, Troop 135 was sponsored by our Church. Troop 135 produced seven Eagle Scouts. Troop 195 (the present Troop) was chartered in 1949 and has remained a vital influence on young men of our congregation and the city. As of March 2009, Troop 195 has produced 90 Eagle Scouts. The current Scout Master for Troop 195 is Wayne Ellis (972-815-5621), and Joe Arredondo (469-853-0545) is Assistant Scout Master.

The Cub Master for Cub Pack 195 is Russell Fenimore (972-896-3212). The Cubs meet at 7:00 each Monday night and the Troop meets each Tuesday night at 7:00 at the church. Joe Arredondo (469-853-0545) is Committee Chairman and Institutional Representative (liaison between the Church and Scouting).
